  • Designing and developing internal iOS apps for internal clients within the business. Help manage and look after Good Portal which has all the employee handhelds registered on it. I regularly have to set up users with a device.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • One major skill I have learnt is to be able to code in Objective - C. This is one of the main languages used to code iOS apps. I have also learnt about servers and different networking procedures. I have also been on a systems development course with QA Training. This course involves learning Java coding language, web development and also use of databases. Whilst working at Fidelity I have also learnt how to speak well on the phone and also to send good emails.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Fidelity International?
  • I feel very valued. No body talks down to you or patronises you because you are an apprentice. Whilst being at Fidelity I have met people outside of it at and event. They were also very nice to me and a lot of the time were actually interested in what I was doing as an apprentice.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The program so far has been very structured and organised. Fidelity whilst I have been there have set up an apprentice night out and day for us all to get to know each other better. I have my training planned way in advance so I am able to plan my work and coursework around it.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • I have regular trainer meetings once every month in which we discuss my work and what we have to do. If I ever feel like my work has been marked unfairly then I am able to claim against it and get it remarked.
