I work in IT Security, this involves investigating computers and networks to be able to identify issues and, where possible, reducing unnecessary risks. I work within a small team in the UK which collaborates with a larger team in India.
I have worked hard to achieve a level of professionalism and understanding in the area that I work in. I strive to find out more and become an expert in the field. I have been on training courses, achieved certifications and have big plans for the future.
I like working at Fidelity since the working environment is very good. I am trusted to get on with work and I question something if I am ever unsure. I feel my colleagues trust me just like anyone else within the team.
I feel that my level of professionalism is very important to the team and is something that I pride myself on. I have seen that the team have struggled to find the right candidates elsewhere and so I believe I am important.
Within the first year I was provided with training opportunities and was provided with contacts if I have any problems. I feel that this has died down since the beginning
In the first year whilst completing my qualifications I worked very well with the training provided. I passed the relevant qualifications and had no issues so it was great to have that support.
I have had compassionate leave whilst I have been here, have worked from home at times and been ill on some days. I feel that my employer is generally very accepting whenever there are problems.
If I travel to a different office to the one accepted in my contract then my travel costs will be covered. My salary is good for an apprenticeship role although I can see that I am in an area where the standard permanent roles have much higher salaries.
I have had social events with other apprentices, gone to corporate events with peers in my sector and have met other apprentices from other companies.
Yes
I already have recommended a friend and they have been successful with their application. Fidelity is a very good company to work for and has a very high level of professionalism and I am proud to be a part of the company.
Look up information about the company before going to your interview. Come well prepared and make sure you know what you can give to the company. Preparation is key, you will only be successful in getting the role if you really want it!
