I am an apprentice engineer at Selex ES a finmeccanica company my day to day mainly consists of performing tasks relating to manual assembly of vital technology for the company.
Throughout my apprenticeship I have continually improved upon existing skills and have gained many new ones, I have attained this through the college course that I have done and other jobs and courses completed through the company.
I have had a great time on my apprenticeship with the work being so interesting and all of the people being so friendly it has been very easy and enjoyable to work with such a prestigious company.
From the beginning of my apprenticeship the company has shown great appreciation for every apprentice in the program and are more that happy to work around your desires of where you see yourself in the future.
The program from the very start has been well organised from the induction to the present day, all support needed was quickly given to those that needed it and regular meetings are held to keep everyone informed of developments.
I am supported through all things by my training supervisors and there are always people willing to help in all of the departments that I have been in.
my employer is always supportive and will reply to any queries as soon as they are capable giving the best response they are able to attain.
with the pay I am receiving from the company I am more than capable of keeping a suitable lifestyle and having some left over for savings.
There are many out of work experiences made available by the company and it is even possible that you can set up events and have them funded if it is in the best interest of the business.
Yes
it is a great opportunity for all to have a healthy and long career with a well known worldwide engineering company.
the application process is simple but I would recommend coming in to one of the open days to receive the best information from actual employees. it is an excellent experience to work with such skilled and informative people that gives you the best chance at a long and successful career.
