I worked as a Business Program Manager during my apprenticeship. This involved working with the Leadership Team on existing processes; trying to improve them and develop them moving forward. This role allowed me to understand and learn how the business works, along with picking up a variety of different skills from different projects. This role is internally facing, but for career progression I was able to have some external facing responsibilities.
I have gained a Level 3 NVQ in Business Management, as well as a number of different Microsoft qualifications alongside this. I am now certified in Prosci change management as well. Throughout my apprenticeship I have become more confident in my skill set - understanding what I need to improve on and how I can do this. Part of this is also understanding what I am good at as well.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my apprenticeship at Microsoft - it has been one of the best experiences in my life! The culture is very welcoming and unique, with a whole host of opportunities provided.
I have been here for 18 months, but feel as if I have been here for years. From day one my opinion was valued and appreciated - really emphasizing the amazing culture here.
The course was very well organised on both sides - Microsoft and QA. The training course offered were valuable and well chosen. There has always been support on hand when needed.
Our QA assessor was a massive help throughout the apprenticeship. Julie was able to help with all questions, supporting us all in completing our qualification!
Microsoft were very supportive throughout the scheme. HR, My manager, my team and my mentors were always able to prove their support, opinions and guidance when it came to my qualification.
I found the package offered from Microsoft passed my expectations! The campus is great - offering discounted food, a gym and a free service. The 14K salary was generous as well.
There are lots of opportunities outside of work. That is one of my favourite things about working here - we do a lot of things for charity as well as team morale building.
Yes
Great opportunity to understand the business, as well as making great networks. One of the most enjoyable experiences of my life.
Research the company, be yourself and enjoy the process! Be open to the idea of trying new things and stepping outside of your comfort zone.
