I have just received my certificates for my level 2 in Business Administration apprenticeship. I have now moved onto my level 3 in Business Administration. Over the last year I have learnt so much ore about the company itself and the process put in place.
I thoroughly enjoy this programme. It has its ups and downs but over all there is more positives than negatives. The team are great and work together to achieve the best. I look forward to moving forward and seeing how my job role changes from a level 2 to a level 3.
I feel valued most of the time in my current position. I feel that I would fully utilise more if was to be taken away from reception and embedded more within the teams. I have received plenty verbal recognition from both my line manager and other team members. I have been involved in some very important projects. ( to give admin support and help set processes up)
I had a Costain induction here I got to meet the other apprentices I felt this was beneficial as it encouraged more networking within Costain. If this is a training course I would like to attend I am encouraged to do so. I completed the fire marshal course last year. I have frequent one to one meetings with my line manger to discuss apprentice units and support. Many tasks have been delegated down to me which is encouraging. with regards to programme being organised it is down to us as the apprentice to organise this and to put time aside to study etc. this improves personal development and time keeping.
I have had plenty of support from the training provider. Once I was told exactly what needed to be recompleted I worked very hard to get the level 2 finished within the deadline. This was made increasingly harder due to the rocky change over from one training provider to the other. Sometimes it feels like I am chasing the provider a lot but when they are here everything is clear and runs smoothly.
I receive as must support from my employer as I require. Most tasks I am given I try to tackle myself and then ask fro guidance when I run into a problem/issue. If I require some time with my line manager I only need to ask and we book sometime to discuss any problems I may have.
The salary/ package I have is working well. The way the apprentice scheme works is fantastic. It keeps the apprentice/me motivated and constantly looking forward to the future.
Yes, we have social events that are being set up and spoken about monthly within the social committee. If I wanted to be a part of this I could be. The location of the office is a bit of a drive but doable. We are constantly being asked to go into schools and help to promote the programme.
Yes
This is because if gives you a great insight to the way in which Costain works. The apprenticeship scheme progresses you and develops you into the future of the company.
Do as many mock interviews as possible. If there is anything you would like to get involve with within Costain/ your project make sure you ask.
