  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Student, then intern in market leadership. Learning about EY and industry, then learning about marketing plans. Interacted with head of Marketing Services and his colleague being given workshops with them. External contact with clients at the lunch and other EY employees in other countries. Responsible for group projects and individual research. Typical day included learning and team building then individual research.

  • Full insight into accountancy industry. Transferable skills (presenting, etc.) and business writing.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Met many great students and employees, was given real work to do and sufficient amounts of it. Enjoyed the friendly atmosphere of EY. Exceeded my expectations and it was probably the highlight of my summer.

  • Was treated with equality, and was felt welcomed by colleagues, students, clients and managers. Was given mostly independent theoretical work.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Clear schedule given and everything went to plan. Well structured in every way. Was encouraged to work with everyone.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • Have not yet met since programme so cannot fully pass judgement. In our two meetings we discussed studies and careers. Attitude was great and is willing to help.

  • I was treated very well by everyone and my questions were answered all the time.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • Not much costs were incurred apart from tube travel and lunch money in the 1st week. Otherwise I was well paid and fed especially during the 1st two weeks.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • We were told about the opportunity but because we were only temporary there was not much point of us having access to them. However from what I heard there are many opportunities to get involved with.

  • Yes

  • Best employer I have had so far.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to EY?
  • Be honest, try your best, and don't be afraid to be friendly.
