My role involves: Picking kitchens, serving customers, organizing/checking stock, sorting transfers for other branches, line checking, loading/unloading vans, answering the phones, sorting customer quires and working up to the maximum health and safety standards.
I have developed and learned new skills. I have developed my communication skills, leadership skills, built my confidence building excellent skills with staff and customers. I have also built my confidence on being able to adapt to more the one working environment on my apprenticeship.
I have highly enjoyed this apprenticeship also being a member of Howdens has been a great experience for me. the staff and customers and being able to get on and have a laugh at same time.
I feel like they have been very fair with me and have given me opportunities to try more then just being a warehouseman, e.g being able to speak/contact customers in person/over the phone also get to know how to use the K8 database giving me more skills (company related) on my cv/better chance of getting a full time job
Overall My programme has been very well organized the training and health safety was well set out and explained in detail. Task been set was well described and always knew what to do.
the support from my tutor is very good always on the ball and keeping me focused a little bit inpatient at times but always very good
The support I receive from my manager is always excellent always telling me the right things and trying to improve me as a person making it easier for my to get me a full time job. Giving me the best advice also keeping me focused and busy.
To compare to other apprenticeships my salary is slightly better to others. Getting to work and location isn't a problem at all. However I am really looking forward to a full time salary as I am really desperate to pass and buy a car and start living and doing better things which means a better wage would be needed
Yes they're many opportunity's for all members of staff to take place in events e.g rounder's/ go karting/ meetings etc. when I wasn't working I was at college looking for and apprenticeship.
Yes
I would recommend Howdens to a friend because they're many local depots and job opportunities always pop up. It is a good company to work through and from what I have heard it is a good company to try make your way to the top and be the best.
They must be hardworking and be able to adapt in various situation and always be able to be ready for work and stopping and starting to do different things
