Internal audit trainee - conducting audit on Public Sector clients around the East of England region
I have learnt a wide variety of new skills. How to conduct myself in a professional capacity, key auditing/report writing skills. Studying AAT at college has really improved my accountancy knowledge too.
I thoroughly enjoy my programme - it gives a perfect work life balance. Everyone I work with are really supportive and have made me feel very welcomed into the team. I enjoy my job and find it interesting working at a number of different clients.
I feel highly valued by Mazars. They are keen to set my objectives for the next year and for regular assignment appraisals. They have been very supportive and flexible when booking in work around my study days too.
I think the programme is well structured. I am at college a couple of days a month and so this means I do not miss out on a lot of work time and so I never feel as though I am falling behind.
I receive a lot of support from my training provider, First Intuition (Chelmsford). They have provided me with an excellent study pack and the tutor I have (Sara Smith) is a very good teacher. They have made it clear support is available at all times.
Mazars have provided a lot of support around my studies and are keen for me to take my exams.
My salary meets my costs well. I am still living at home and so I am never really struggling. If I were to move out things would be a bit tougher.
I have attended a few company events while working for Mazars that have been very helpful and allowed me to meet other people working in the firm from different departments etc.
Yes
They have been very supportive ever since I started and have provided excellent training which has improved my skills greatly.
Definitely apply to the school leaver schemes - it gives you the same level qualifications as going to university at the end of it but also provides work experience at the same time. Be very prepared for the interviews - do a lot of research about the firm before. Be prepared for a lot of travelling between clients too.
