Civil engineering apprentice Review

My role involves both aspects of civil engineering both office based design and site based practical works.

Since working for Costain I have learnt and expanded a number of skills that without the practical aspect of my apprenticeship just wouldn't be possible

I thoroughly enjoy the programme both work based and academic aspects.

I feel Costain value all members of staff despite only being part of the company for a short length of time.

I find the programme to be totally comprehensive as a result of good organisation of the overall programme.

My training provider regularly visits me both during college days and work days to ensure I'm enjoying and getting all I need out of the apprenticeship.

I receive an overwhelming amount of support from my employer, during personal illness that required long periods off work Costain have been nothing but supportive and provided the help required to ease back into work after an extended period off.

For an apprenticeship wage I find my salary to be at the higher spectrum compared to apprentices of similar roles in other companies

I find Costain work very closely with ICE to ensure we can get as much as possible out of both our apprenticeship and career in civil engineering,
