My job title is a Junior Project Coordinator and this consists of a variety of jobs, from carrying out store audits to being actively involved within important meetings. I speak to several people from all corners of the business as this is a huge role throughout project management, many projects also involve 3rd party companies too. I am responsible for ensuring that everyone gets on with their job and completing documents that are beneficial to the completion of a project.
I have developed many skills since joining Boots both from my store experience and in Head Office, things would include from writing and structuring e-mails to the user of different software, I will also be undertaking lots of training provided by head office to better me in my job role.
I enjoy coming to work everyday as the team that I work around are all caring and friendly, the company has great culture and spirits throughout the business with events going on every week. I never expect to feel so comfortable in such a small amount of time.
I feel extremely valued by my whole team at Boots as they all work to ensure that I have something to be getting on with and holding meetings with me to ensure that I feel I am getting the most out of the apprenticeship.
The structure of the apprenticeship consist of learning your job role for 4 1/2 days a week and spending 1/2 day a week studying for the course we are doing alongside the work. Everything is organised well in advance so you always know where you stand with tasks.
I am being provided with lots of support from both my Line Manager and my Teacher with regular 1/2/1 meetings throughout the week and review notes of my progress so far. Any issues I may have with my work I can e-mail to my teacher to ensure that I am completing correctly, even if it takes a while to respond!
I have regular 1/2/1 meetings with my Line Manager to ensure that I am getting the most out of my experience. Any problems and concerns I may have about certain situations I can confidently tell them about and they will be acted upon.
It is a great salary/package at Boots and really motivates me to show that I am worth the great investment of the apprenticeship scheme, the are many benefits to being a member of Boots and they are willing to help with most situations.
Although personally I have not yet been involved in many, there are many opportunity to do fundraising activities, also within my job role to go and see projects that have been completed and implemented.
Yes
Because it is a great environment to work in surrounded by great people, it helps to aspire to more and urges to aim to better every employee. I am very fortunate to have been integrated into this society as such a young age.
I would make sure that you give it everything in all the documents that you submit when applying for the job, ensure that at each stage of recruitment you put 110% into it as if you believe in your ability to succeed, this will show through.
