Boots brand exclusives supply assistant. I make and send reports to suppliers dependent on our forecasting, and key performance indicator's. I am begining a project with the aim of improving the supply chain system and lead times. At the moment this has involved working out which suppliers will be bassed to base a new order system on, dependent on their lead times, service level, and amount of unit's we forecast to sell.
I have developed my skills within Excel perticuarly. I have aslso learnt to use the companies Mainframe ordering system, which takes a while to train on. I will be working towards a business and admin foundation degree.
I have really enjoyed the project side of my role, as I like getting my teeth stuck into things and working with numbers. I have found the more admin side a little dull. Although I am enjoying overall and there is a good culture, it would be nice to have more of a social aspect to the company, perticuarly as I have moved for the role.
I feel I have been given a fair amount of responsibility and my opinion is valid.
I feel there is a really good balence of training and work. It is nice that it is spread throughout the week, which alows you to absorb the info. I also feel, managers are really pr-active in arranging catch ups and cheking in on how you are doing. Team meetings allow people from various level's to comunicate their idea's.
My current tutor for supply is really aproachable with questions. I am yet to do much work at college, so can't respond on that.
Feel my line manager is really approachable, and there for support I may need. Would be good to have more advice for things outside of work, but I am aware of some services they provide.
Although it is a good package for an apprenteship. Because I have had to move, my budget is fairly tight. I am working hard to get my bonus. I love the discount though, and getting the odd freebies!
A few, but people are not made overly aware of them.
Yes
Overall, great to recieve such good support and training while getting paid. Feel it offers good career progression opportunities.
Go for it. Be really pro active in your 'Big idea' for your interview and put lots of prep in.
