I am a Trainee Mechanical Services Engineer, my Daily tasks are learning on the job with whatever work i am given. Usually small jobs as i am a trainee which help me develop my knowledge in building services. I interact with engineers around me and learn from them also from help and advice wherever i need it. I have played a small part in some projects, with jobs such as calculations and drawing layouts.
I am currently Studying a Part Time (HNC)Building Services Course at Solihull College, which i attend 1 day a week I am slowly gaining knowledge on the job about the building services industry. Each day, i am set tasks which help me gain skills such as; Using IES, Drawing Layouts, Calculations.
I enjoy working as it is productive to be learning and progressing my knowledge on a daily basis. i enjoy the company as there is always help about, and never an unanswered question. At first, there was minimal work for me to do which i did not enjoy but as time progressed i was given more work making the job more enjoyable.
I feel as valued as a trainee should be. i am looked out for with work and if i ever need help. Other engineers try to get me involved in tasks where they can which is good.
When i first joined i was given a good induction to the job & i got started on some new employee training straight away. I receive good Support from everybody, aswell as mentors and in meetings. The Cibse Training & Development Scheme for example.
i receive alot of support from the people around me as i usually go to them for work. They educate me from any problems or questions i have.
I receive alot of helpful support from the company. They are helpful with HR advice and any queries i have like holidays and i feel support is always accesable.
The salary is satisfactory. It covers all my costs, rent, Train pass, Food & social costs. However i do tend to see myself holding back towards the end of the month.
I havent been to any company events but i have been notified of a fair few, such as wolf runs. When im not working i tend to go to the studio and work on music.
Yes

the advice i would give to other employees is to learn about the company and have a Decent knowledge about the industry they are applying for. This was the advice i was given and i feel it helped me in the application process
