My role day to day is to support the team by preparing documents, carrying out behind the scene work and assisting in sending payments to customers.
I have learnt many new skills, predominantly how to deal with customer queries I have no knowledge about and how to manage their expectations in a professional and morally correct manner.
I enjoy my role most when I am out and about visiting clients, shadowing the audit team or following a new client with the Business Development department. These are all goals in my personal development plan to try not the be just cooped up in the office 24/7 and see every aspect of Invoice Finance.
At the moment there is movement within the team with colleagues leaving so my role has become even more important with me carrying out tasks usually performed by those above me until replacement staff are found. This is fantastic training and I can see how much of an impact I am having on the team and feel valued.
My programme is very much down to what comes in and needs doing on the day. I do have a development plan which I follow and that includes going out to meetings and perfo4ming critical tasks such as retrieving financial information from our clients. But apart from this it is down to what the clients need doing and the work required to fulfil their requests.
I receive some support from my training provider mainly in the fork of the workbooks and webinars to support my learning.
I receive lots of support from RBS, they are always trying to help me progress in not just a professional manner but in a personal one as well. I have been put through a professional exam which was not on my learning plan and this extra qualification will definitely in my future professional ventures.
The salary package is fantastic with me never getting close to running out of money.
There are lots of opportunities for networking events and charity events. These all help me build a network in the banking community which will come in handy in the future.
Yes
The job opportunities in the bank are never ending and there is 100% something for everyone. Also the footing the apprenticeship puts you on in the sector is unrivalled and will help anybody in their career goals.
I would advise them to try their absolute best when applying as out of over 5000 applicants there were only 250 jobs. Also don't presume you won't get in purely for your intellect, as long as you can manage your workloads, have good customer service skills and always make the right for the consumer then you can't go wrong.
