Creating end-to-end process maps on Visio and document amendments to current BAU processes. Conducting meeting and phone calls with internal stakeholders and SMEs to understand the different roles and functions within the bank.
Use and familiarity of Microsoft Visio (which I've had no prior experience of using). General conversation skills in meetings which are beginning to develop.
I enjoy my programme as I'm faced with new challenges and there is opportunity to develop my personal skills as well as my technical skills
I think RBS as an organisation treats its employees above the standard of what I would consider 'fair'. Even as an apprentice I am treated the same as my more experienced colleagues and have ample opportunity to develop myself.
My programme is organised well with the occasional hurdles i.e. re-prioritisations however, despite this, there are a lot of focus areas which means that the workload is distributed often in a very appropriate way. In other words, there is work that needs to be done and personally I find this is comforting as there is always something productive to do.
My training provider BPP are always there to support me. If I ever have any queries, I do not hesitate to ask because they are welcoming in that manner. At the same time, any queries I have asked, they are dealt with quickly and efficiently.
A lot of support is provided by my employer in regards to resources.
The salary is quite high for an apprentice thus it met my expectations and personally, for my expenses, it is more than enough.
There are a numerous amount of opportunities outside the usual working responsibilities to get involved in. Personally, I feel like there needs to be more of an awareness of how much we can get involved with these opportunities and whether this is a Line Manager discussion or if we are restricted contractually. Personally, if this was made explicit I'd be more involved. Nonetheless, there are a range of opportunities available to be involved in.
Yes
I haven't had any prior working experience to judge this on, however, I believe that from the moment I began working as an apprentice, I have been welcomed- by people in the office and any stakeholders I have gotten into contact with to acquire information. I've had a really great experience of this which makes me believe that RBS' standards are truly embedded into their employees. This is just my personal opinion.
Consider the benefits of the job but more importantly, consider the working environment. When you do that, you'll know you picked the right organisation to work for
