Job Title - Access Planning Apprentice Daily Tasks - Learning how to plan installations of Fibre in the ground to businesses to connect them to Virgin Media services this involves me shadowing mentors to obtain the skills needed to complete it myself. Daily interactions - With the other members on my team and other parts of the business and contractors for example going out with surveyors on site to see what they do.
I have attended training courses and gained new skills for the role and also developed other skills such as communication skills as it is required for the role. Also I am working towards obtaining qualifications at the end of my 18 month apprenticeship
The role seems interesting and I'm eager to learn more about it. The team I am on is very friendly and willing to help and the company culture seems very good especially compared to other companies I have worked for in this past
Very valued by the company and also manager and other colleagues and try to get me involved as much as possible.
I have several journals for each week to complete and also a study day each week to work towards qualifications so overall very organised and a clear path of progression.
Visits once a week to help towards obtaining qualification and always available via email or phone if I needed him any other time and always able to answer any questions I have
Plenty of support from manager and team who are all willing to help if I need it
Salary is good for an apprenticeship £17500 start with an increase after 12 months to £21000 then after completing a further 6months after that I will go onto the entry level wage for role of around £26000
Plenty of opportunities outside work such as charity events as we are cycling from London to Belgium for charity and also running a marathon, also socially always something to do if you want to.
