My role within the apprenticeship is of an Assistant Relationship Manager. This involves me working regularly with client finances whilst also speaking to clients on the phone and doing admin work.
Yes. I have become a lot more confident in regards to speaking to people on the phone. I have also become better at maths as a result of working with finances etc every day.
I am really enjoying it and would like to do it permanently.
I would say that RBS do have a large focus upon apprenticeships and all the people I have spoken to have shown a real interest in what I do and how I am getting on.
The structure by RBS is very good. The learning provider (BPP) do not seem very organised and there have been multiple instances of poor organisation. Overall, the RBS programme is very good - the BPP provision of learning does require some improvement.
My training provider is BPP and, so far, they do not seem organised. The online webinar sessions were useful and went into a lot of depth in regards to the exam. The resources provided, however, seem poorly made and there are multiple errors within the text book.
My employer is very helpful and supportive. My line manager is more than happy for me to have time away from work itself to focus upon studying for my exam as well as doing the workbooks required.
At this point in time I have no costs in regards to the apprenticeship. This is due to the office being close to where I live and, due to my studying, I do not go out as often as I used to. So, overall, it does cover everything that I require it to.
There are not many opportunities. Within Invoice Finance I was able to study a separate, invoice finance specific qualification to improve my knowledge of that sector. I do not mind this as it allows me to better focus on my studies.
Yes
RBS as an employer is good. The salary is good and I feel supported should I need anything.
Be prepared to work hard - so don't apply if you're not going to put the effort in.
