I work alongside the other Assistant Relationship managers who each deal with 2/3 managers. In my daily job I deal with customers and assistant them if they have any questions, I go on meetings and also book and prepare them.
I have seen that I have become more confident especially when I am meeting new people from the company or customers. I have learnt how to balance the work and studying side of the apprenticeship, so I am not doing too much and can balance the workload.
I really enjoy my programme and the people I work with as they are helping me and giving me work so I can progress in my apprenticeship. I like going to the events and on customer meetings because I'm interacting with more people everyday.
I do feel valued as my managers and colleagues are telling me how I'm an asset to the team and how I am going a good job. From when I first started I do feel like I've learnt a lot like all the systems we use and the way we interact with customers.
My programme is quite organised as I get regular emails from my assessor keeping me up to date with what is happening. For example I have a phonecall everymonth with my assesor and my line manager to discuss what I've been doing throughout the month. There is also webinars which teach us valuable skills which we pick up throughout the apprenticeship.
There is a medium amount of support which we are given and it is quite usefuul. For example I know that if I need help with something then I can contact my assessor and she will be able to help me or refer me to someone that can help with the issue.
I do recieve a lot of support as I am always offered help if I need it, like for an upcoming exam they are constantly asking me if I have enough study time in my diary and also they help me if I'm not understanding something.
I was surprised by the amount I was getting as I am getting above minimum wage and a lot higher than most other apprenticeships. With regards to the package I get it is good as it gives me lots of benefits for example, I can choose to have private healthcare.
There is some opportunities but not a big variety, sometimes people from the office go out after work. From the business prespective I'm not aware of that many opportunities outside of work to do with the company, you can volunteer for different things like the Princes Trust and Young leavers where you can help teens achieve a buisness.
Yes
It is a great opportunity for someone to start off their career in the bank and you are constantly learning everyday. It is a great way to meet new people and working for the bank you are able to go to all diffferent sectors which is ideal if you are still working out what sort of job you want to do.
If you are applying and are not sure if its the sort of apprenticeship for you, still apply because you might get it and realise that you may really like it.
