My Role at RBS is varied. I mostly engage with customers via telephone or email, deal with their enquires and solving and probles they might have ensuring they are completely satisfied with the service. As an assistant to a Relationship Manager i also will complete Shared Relationship Plans, Briefs and Agendas. I also will book review meetings and liase this with the RM and customer, as well as prospecting for new customers.
I have learned a lot of banking knowledge whilst working for RBS, I have gained knowledge in how the process works and how the bank makes money. I have also developed on using good customer service skills, ensuring the customer is happy and the postitive effect that this will have on the business
I am really enjoying the apprenticeship programme,I thin its a great oppurtunity to gain qualifications and develop myself however wish i was allocated more time in the working week to do this.
The other Assistants have made me feel really valued - when i first started their work load was very high due to one assistant having been on long term sick, i did everything i could to take duties off them and they showed their appreciation.
I wouldnt say it is very organised due to me have my firs exam so close to another deadline - i feel like one of them will suffer because of not being able to focus on just at a time.
I recieve a fair amount of support - my assessor is really encouraging and supportive however i do feel its difficult to create a relationship with her due to never meeting.
I recieve a lot of support from my line manager especially - he never makes me feel bad for asking questions and encourages me when i do so, also the other assistants have supported me a massive amount the will also make sure i am 100% comfortable with duties i am doing, and if i don they will happily sit and talk me through the situation so i can develop myself
My salary meets my package well, i am really happy that i get the oppurtunity to use the offers scheme it allows me to put plans in place before taxed - this is something that i value RBS for as they have correct intentions with staff.
As an office we have done a lot of socialising outside work i think this helps us build a good working relationship and allows us to be comftable around eachother whilst working
Yes
Because of the oppurtunities they give you to develop and grow, they retain staff extremely well and have loyal customers to can build relationships with.
Be completely yourself, and relax during the interview. I would also suggest to do a lot of research on the company because the ethos and motivation for RBS is something that you should be passionate about before applying.
