I am a business analyst working in the PBB business banking technology team. Each day is different, it can be jam packed with meetings or spend time working on the QA qualification I am doing which is a software and web development course. My job involves gathering requiremnts for a project and helping create a business case which involves, costs, risks, assumptions etc of doing a project
I skill which was non existence before was communication skills, I have struggled with this before but the job has helped me improve on this issue and those initial nerves I use to have aren't there anymore. This is something which has massively helped me in my personal life as well as my working life. I learn new things every day and quite a few mistakes have been made on my part but every mistake made should be seen as a learning opportunity
I enjoy the programme quite a lot. I am faced with different challenges and obstacles on a day to day basis and I like solving these and breaking them down. However, I haven't really enjoyed the qualification side of it, after doing a 3 week java course I realized that coding isn't for me
I am think I am well valued by RBS. They are keen on getting young people into the bank and have presented me with a lot of interesting work. Everyone here wants to help each other out so I don't think theres anything better then seeing work colleagues succeed and think this is something everyone at RBS feels
This answer is purely from a QA stand point, the qualification hasn't been organised at all, QA were told that many of the tech apprentices would be in Edinburgh for 2 days in December and they still scheduled classes for then so this had to be pushed back to February and we only got the class schedule a week before we started
The support is quite poor, I have sent coursework to my assessor for feedback and he is extemely slow with replies and could be waiting 2 weeks for a reply and the feedback given lacks any kind of consistency. However our tutor for our course was very good and gave us a lot of support, this is the only reason I am rating this as a 5 otheriwise it would be a 1
A lot of support, any concerns or issues I am having, I can talk to my line manager for advice and he will help me solve these
I moved from Birmingham to London for this job and most of my money is spent on rent and travelling costs, also living costs are quite high but I have managed to save some good money so far

It is a great place to start a career as I have learnt many skills and the great support is given.
Just be confident in the interview and make sure you have answers prepared for the questions and if a question is asked and you don't know how to answer it, just take a bit of time and gather some thoughts.It's so much worse not giving an answer then it is to take a minute to think of an answer
