my job role inlcudes answering customer queries. i train to be a assistant relationship manager in the commercial sector of rbs. we deal with many businesses on a daily basis to help with all the problems they may have as well as rewarding them for good achievements they have made.
everything about my experience has been a new prospect to me as i had just left school before i started here. i have developpeed the ability to speak to customers as well as learning about the banking industry around the globe.
I really enjoy the programme. The challeneges it has, the rewards it gives, and most of all the customers gratitude towards the way in which we deal with them.
I feel valued as one of the team. I also feel equal to all other employees just rather than just a apprentice. this is one of the best benefits considering the organisation is so big, to feel valued as a equal to all other representatives.
overall the programme is structured well. to start with there are a few issues which can be frustrating to the apprentice as well as the other staff. however this doesnt define the programme as a whole.
The support from the provider is constant and beneficial. They are always providing you with updates and try to help in anyway they can. However there can be a probem when searching for resources yourself via email to the provider as it doesnt always go to the right mailbox.
Outstanding. the suppport from the employer is constant, engaging and sympathetic towards your needs (especially in my case). there are constant chances to widen your knoledge into different sectors and everyone is willing to help you learn the ropes.
The salary is extrodinary for a apprentice. much higher than national minimum wage. all expenses for travel when needed are paid for by he organisation.
i havent really experienced many opportunities outside of work. However there are lots of chances to get involved with charity work which always puts your name into a good light.
Yes
The opportunity RBS provides to young people is one of a kind and a amazing chance for young people to broaden there horizens and learn about the banking industry without the need to go to university.
I would reccomend that you come into this organisation with a clear mind, dont have any expectations as it is nothing like the image which is painted by the press.
