Data Services Apprentice - I install networking products such as cisco routers for businesses around the country. I have to study and complete an HNC course on IT and telecommunications as well as the CCNA. My week is split between installs and study days.
I have developed my networking IT skills much further with regular study days as well as learning on the job. Organisation and Interaction skills have been improved performing daily duties.
I really enjoy the programme, the engineering team I am in are very knowledgeable and friendly so always happy to help with any questions or problems that I have. I feel I am a trusted and valued employee.
I feel valued, I am given a lot of responsibility with plenty of small tasks I am trusted to carry out and a lot of opportunity to help with larger tasks. I receive regular positive performance reviews and feedback.
Plenty of guidance on what modules to complete and are spaced out enough that you never feel overloaded. Studying resources could be improved on, though there are plenty of training courses provided with a lot of support from managers and mentors.
I feel well supported by the team of engineers and managers. I have no hesitations over phoning for assistance as everyone is always happy to help.

Salary is excellent and don't think many apprenticeships can compete. All tools and transportation required are provided and good salary whilst you train.
There are fantastic charity events that you can get involved with.

Plenty of information on the careers section of the site for what the company looks for when recruiting. Interview process is thorough but focuses on your personal qualities rather than technical skills, so be yourself.
