  • I enjoyed the Apprenticeship program, meeting some great people and participating in training days.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Virgin Media O2?
  • Not very. Constantly working past 7pm, usually because of too many jobs been booked in or not enough travel time between jobs, no appreciation from management when completing the jobs. Frowned upon when not able to commit to overtime and marked down in monthly 1-2-1s due to this.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • With the amount of jobs that I complete in one day I feel that I do not get paid enough for this. I also disagree with the fact that we have to earn commission by signing up new customers (also getting marked down in monthly 1-2-1 if haven't done so). Im not training to be a salesperson and the salary should reflect my technical performance. I also leave my house at 0720 to get to my first job for 8am which is also 40minutes unpaid everyday.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • Nothing. Constantly being routed over 30minutes from my house and finishing roughly 8pm most nights I don't get to see my kids before they go to bed and not getting to see them before I set off for 0720 every morning. If I'm lucky enough to have a day off work, if I'm not being pestered for overtime, I tend to be doing work related paperwork like van audits, van mileage or completing surveys as I do not get enough time during the working day.

  • 9. Would you recommend Virgin Media O2 to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I would recommend to work for Virgin Media as it is a great company to work for in terms of benefits, job security and progression. However this is has been ruined for me specifically the job role. Being overworked and under valued.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Virgin Media O2?
  • At the start of the apprenticeship I would of benefitted from interactions/conversations with the technicians currently doing the job role. Getting the perspective from their point of view as pose to someone who hasn't done the job and in affect pulling the wool over our eyes. A lot of presentations on how the company is a great company. The assessments days and interviews were very relaxed and comfortable. This was a great way of finding out what type of people we are.
