My job within RBS is a Developer. I update and maintain the RBS website. My responsibilities within the bank is moderate as they cant hand me loads of work if I don't know what I'm doing. We are currently working on projects to help the bank stay level with competitors.
I am currently at college on Thursday's with RBS, The course im doing is a HND course over 2 years, 1 day a week. We also have to do GPL's within the bank to keep up to scratch with RBS policies.
I have enjoyed my programme so far as ive met a lot of new and interesting people, we have been given fun task to do that involve team building. that's what ive enjoyed the most.
I feel valued at RBS as they have given us a task to do that involves presenting to the board of RBS which was a new experience and really fun.
The Programme could be run better at RBS, there needs to be more transparency between our mentors and people who recruited us as no knows whats going on with college.
The training at college could be better, they teach us vaguely and need to learn most of it in our own time as its a HND in 2 years, 1 day a week which is near impossible
My manager is very supportive if I cant do something, or need more time for college work. The HR team are good as the respond to any queries swiftly. Any problems I have I either contact the recruitment team or my manager and they usually give me a well structured response
The Salary for an apprentice at RBS is very generous, we get more than enough to cover our, Living costs, Travel costs, Daily costs and social costs
Yes, loads. RBS have a spot on the intranet dedicated to events that we might be interested in, such as football, cycling, networking, skiing clubs.
Yes
They offer an amazing package when you join, you go to college and learn whilst working in the placement. This gives your work experience as well as learning.
Be confident if you get to the interview, there's 3 tests you need to pass before you actually speak to someone within the recruitment team, after that you have a phone interview then a assessment centre
