I am a software engineer, I am currently on a three month training course before we start on our first project. However we have been given an internal project to keep us busy during our training. A typical day so far will involve studying with our tutors. Then in the evening I spend a couple of hours either doing revision or working on the project.
The training course means that I have learn many new skills that will be relevant to the work I’m going to be doing day to day. This includes SQL, JAVA and Data modelling tools such as ERwin. The weeks in business have been spent focused on understanding business and presentation.
So far I have greatly enjoyed the programme. The managers have been supportive and attentive to any issues raised. The other people on the course have also embraced the programme and we have developed a great team spirit.
Only being at the start of my time with Capgemini it's hard to say but what has been made clear is the company’s commitment to developing junior talent. In this respect I do feel valued by Capgemini.
It has been very well organised, tasks have been assigned and made clear. Any new training or venues for different programmes have been made clear.
The tutors have been very good. They are always available if you need to ask questions about the course.
It has been very good. Any problems have been sorted out. Also they are always offering advice on the best practices in the business.
The salary I receive has met my costs.
There are always events, activities and volunteering opportunities being emailed around and we are encouraged to take part.
Yes
I have really enjoyed my time with Capgemini and I feel it has and will continue to benefit my career.
Keep trying they have a lot of applicants and it took me almost a year to get an interview. Other than that do relevant work on your own to show your enthusiasm and commitment.
