In a nutshell, I represent IBM to the client as a professional and competent organisation with the client’s satisfaction as the number one priority, while managing IBM and my team to provide this level of service within the agreed budget. I am responsible for the day-to-day performance of an insurance client, including staffing, service and budget. I ensure that all maintenance and support activities are carried out in accordance with the relevant Quality Plan and Service Level Objectives, and ensure that the client is satisfied with the services delivered. In addition, I actively promote the compliance and usage of Open Process Automation Library (OPAL) across the account, and look at ways of improving the Application Management Service (AMS) Management System, submitting process improvements in relevant areas.
Since joining IBM I have expanded my skill set in various areas: AIX WebSphere DB2 LDAP Coding Testing Managment Client Communications Managing technical teams Courses: Foundation Skills in a Professional Environment Foundation Call Programme Proffesional Skills Class Project Managment Java Qualifications: Apprenticeship Advanced Level 3 Apprenticeship Higher Level 4 (in progress) Functional Skills - English & ICT
I really enjoy working at IBM, the atmopshere is always welcoming. IBM has so many benefits and offers a wide variety of oppotunities - role rotation etc. IBM exceeded my expectations.
I think we could make our top talent programme more visible.
The induction is very well structured and enjoyable. Training is very flexible (outside the core classes).
There isn't a huge visible input from our college but I believe that is because everything is filtered through to the management of the apprenticeship scheme and then down to the apprentices.
IBM is very supportive of career progression.
The salary package is very good if you are doing the standard roles that are at your 'band' level, however if you are doing a role above your standard it is hard to progress 'band' wise as you have to wait until you have finished the apprentice scheme.
Yes
There are so many different benefits provided by IBM and a job for everyone.
Be yourself.
