I work as a service technician dealing with customer faults and installations. My day to day role is varied, ranging from site surveys, pre start checks, full installations, fault finding and customer service.
I have developed existing customer service skills and gained a lot of knowledge about the network and the company i work for. I have also gained new qualifications during my training.
I really enjoy my role, I have had an invaluable experience with Virgin Media and have gained a few good friends.
I feel valued by my colleagues and feel I make a difference to customers
There is a good mix of mentoring/ hands on experience and classroom learning.
I have received support whenever and wherever I have needed it, there is always someone to talk to and scope for extra help when needed.
Virgin Media had provided all the tools and training necessary to be competent in my role, from the training to the tools and van and even the hotel tab - thanks!
The initial apprenticeship wage of just under £1000 after tax a month is more than competitive compared with other packages offered from other employers, on completion this rises substantially.
There are annual team partys and organised events by Virgin. There are also training events for new equipment and technologies
Yes
Virgin offers a place to develop as a person, it also offers a competitive salary and benefits package.
I would say go for it. You will enjoy the training course and gain invaluable knowledge for the role ahead, you will also make some good friends along the way.
