I am A funeral arranger/ FSO and my tasks include arranging funerals, collection & Preparation of deceased, conducting viewings, driving limousines, bearing on funerals, raising and receiving payment of invoices, liaising daily with clients, internal and external organisations and overseeing the funeral arrangements to the end
I have updated and developed my knowledge of external laws an requirements such as Health and safety and data protection which is constantly changing and as I have done the job before and already hold an NVQ in the profession, I have had my previous knowledge and experience validated
I love my job and to know that the way I carry out this is to a standard which is recognised externally gives me satisfaction to know that I am giving excellent service. There were a few hiccups at the sign up stage which delayed my starting the programme quite significantly, but once these were cleared up, my experience was positive.
I feel valued and recognition of this has come from managers because they are allowing me extra responsibilities above and beyond my job roles
I think the training is adequate, but feel that new starters could possibly do with an induction programme as there is a delay before they enter their formal training. I think this would also save the company money in the long term because it would give the new starters a taste of what they are letting themselves in for before they attend the expensive formal training sessions and then decide to leave. They could leave before that money is spent if they realise it's not for them
[This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] is fantastic, she is extremely supportive and friendly and very easy to get along with, she has been one of the best parts of my course, a real asset to Learn Direct!
I cannot fairly answer this because having already qualified in this profession, I have not needed to call on my employer for any assistance.
Again, I'm not sure that I can answer this fairly. I am a single mum and get top up with my wages. If I was married, I can imagine it being difficult, because the part time wage does not even earn me enough to pay rent??
There are plenty of opportunities to get involved with community activities, unfortunately due to childcare, I am not able to attend many though
Yes
I have recommended. My experience has been positive and I always speak as I find.
The application process is fairly slow but don't be put off, they are a fair company to work for and well worth the wait
