I work at aone+, it is a highways company and we deal with anything that happens on the network within our area. Within my team we deal with the 'Damage to crown property' this means that when people have accidents out on the network and damage things such as barriers, lamp collums or signs ect.. we then have to chase the money from your insurance company to pay for the damage.
I have learnt how to be responsible for my own actions, this ties in with things such as time keeping and been organised. I have to set myself goals each day and be responsible to acheive them. I have also improved how i work in a team.
I really enjoy my programme, i enjoy working on a day to day basis and feel that taking part in my programme once a week is brilliant. It means i am able to have a break from a working day and concentrate on my education. I enjoy the programme as i think it really relates to the work i do.
I feel valued by costain every day, from the minuite i started here i felt valued. I have been invited to over 20 courses all over the coutry and have met many new people.. all thanks to costain.
I feel my programme is very well structured, i do my educational work once a week on a monday. This allows me to complete my work on the first day back after the weekend. My work friends are a big help if i need them and i also have an assesor coming in every 4 weeks to see me and help with my programme.
My training provider is brilliant, i am training with QA and am taking part in a City and Guilds business admin course level 3. I have dailey trips to my training providers centre in leeds which i have met many friends and the staff are very helpful.
My employer is always looking out for the best for me, i couldnt feel more valued. I have been on courses and special trips to meet everyone at costain and when i first started i was on courses to know everything about thie business. it was a real help as i didnt have much knowledge before hand. I also know that within my business if i wanted to explore there are always opertunities out there that my employer will help me acheive.
I have only just turned 18, i get 1025 a month which meets my needs as i dont have any relaible people to spend my money on or have my own property to pay for, therefore the money i get can be spent on me :)
i have learnt that there are lots of oppertunities in and out of my business, i know there are courses and training courses avaliable to me outside of work
Yes
I feel costain is a good place to be, they value you and give you the best they possibly can. If they feel what you are doing or what you want to do they will support you 100%.
Apply your personality with the job and always think outside the box with things. if you like a full on interesting job then this will be for you.
