My role is a laboratory analyst in a QA lab. Over the course of my apprenticeship I have worked in incoming materials lab, oral solid dose lab and the respiratory lab. My day-to-day role is to carry out a number of tests in order to assure the quality of the product, I also support other analysts carrying out testing.
I have developed my confidence when talking in front of people, this is through team meetings and also becoming a STEM ambassador - which is something that working for GSK has allowed me to do.
I thoroughly enjoy my apprenticeship, I feel as though I am treated as an equal to all other analysts even though I am technically still training. I enjoy moving around all of the labs to get exposure to the different departments.
I do feel valued by GSK as a whole, this is shown by trips planned for apprentices (such as a two day visit to GSK house with group and team building activities). However, I feel that sometimes individual teams could value apprentices more.
The university and GSK do not communicate much, I feel that this is an area that could be improved.
There is always support there if I need it.
GSK is very good at accommodating for apprentices. If there is any extra study time needed they are more than happy to allocate some, we are encouraged that our studies come first.
Very well!!
Yes there are many opportunities - work and non-work related!
Yes
I feel that GSK is a very good company to work for. Since joining I have developed a number of skills and been given so many opportunities I otherwise would've never been given.
Show you are passionate as that is the main aspect of anyone who works here.
