My role is a technical apprentice. On a day-to-day basis, I complete various tasks set by the department regarding the work they do. I also have a responsibility of dealing with various customer documentations. On a daily basis it is essential to have daily interactions with the team you are working within.
Since joining the apprenticeship I have learned many new skills and qualities. Also you start to develop better communication and understanding skills.
The work on the apprenticeship program is challenging and enjoyable, and is at the correct level to gain experience. The teams and employees help with any problems and are there to guide and pass on experience.
At finmeccanica apprentices are treated as equally as experienced employees. The employees of the company value your opinions and what you can bring to the future of the company.
The programme has very rigid structure. The application process is long-winded, however it is so the company can hire the best candidates for the job. The support of the programme within the workplace is very high and so many experienced employees get involved with the program.
From the training provider, you are given outlined details of criteria and objectives you must meet in the apprenticeship program. This is good as it highlights what you have to work towards in the coming years.
Support in the work place is very high. Any questions or problems can be raised with any supervisor or trainer. guidance can be given through any problems that occur. The general attitude of the training is good, people are always there to support you.
Salary within the workplace is extremely competitive, one of the best paying apprenticeships. Meets all demands for living and socialising costs. Also for commuters travel costs are easily paid within the salary. Location of the building is in a prime area with only a ten minute drive to the centre of town.
The apprenticeship programme has so many extra curricular activities it is hard to be involved in them all. There are so many opportunity's available, but must be balanced with work duties. The company provide benefits to employees and also the chance to be in the community working.

I was recommended by a friend to finmeccanica and I believe it is one of the best opportunity's I have taken. It is one of the most competitive apprenticeship programs and it is a shame for anyone to pass up the chance of employment.
Detail as much about yourself and how you are suitable to the position you are applying for within finmeccanica. For the interview stage, always prepare, never try and make it up on the day. At the assessment days always speak to people, ask question socialise (Assessors love this!). Ask as many questions as you need to, there's no such thing as a silly question and if there is its better than no question.
