As a higher apprentice, there are many roles that are available to you, I am currently in CSD which is Custom Software Development and my role is quite varied as depending on what project I'm on.
Yes, you will learn many skills in the advanced learning stages of your apprenticeship and will gain qualifications over the time you are with Capgemini, there is even an opportunity to get a degree.
So far I have enjoyed the programme a lot, I have met many new friends and the majority of people at the company are extremely helpful. I have enjoyed some roles better than others, but there is always an opportunity to explore new roles.
As an apprentice it's a mixed feeling, again the majority of people make you feel very welcome and the company seems very proud of it's apprenticeship programme but this is a view that not everyone shares.
As soon as you enter the company, it's run very smoothly and easily however, I do feel the Induction process could have been better.
My training provider was extremely helpful and patient with all his students throughout training but we were lucky on this as others didn't seem so thrilled with there trainer.
My manager, mentor etc. have all been very helpful since day one and always done there best too make sure I'm happy and that I don't need anything.
Depending on where you end up working, things like living costs and travel costs are always taken care of by the company so you are never out of pocket. However the pay is excellent for an apprenticeship programme and there a number of opportunity's for progression in the company.
There are many courses that can be taken to enhance or just refresh the skills you have been working on, there isn't a lot of social events however. There are some and it is something my manager and others have expressed interest in doing more of in the near future.
Yes
Great opportunity for non-uni goers with great pay that no other apprenticeship progamme comes near too.
The company seems to really like people with an enthusiasm for there career and in ICT obviously and especially want someone who can work well in a team, teamwork is a big part of Cap.
