My job role is a sales assistant, my day to day jobs include helping and serving customers while also offering SAS, savers active sales. I also help to maintain the stores cleanliness and helping with setting up promotions and with deliveries.
I think i have learnt a lot of new skills, such as handling money, processing payments, customer service and stock availability. i have also learnt how to use a hht for things such as picking lists, tag requests, 100% price checked and product enquiries.
i really enjoy my programme as i get to work with a great, friendly and professional team, there is always something to do so i can keep busy and meeting all different types of people that come into the shop.
i do feel valued at savers as i am always praised for my hard work and motivated to do better each day by colleagues. i am always involved with tasks and projects as everyone works hard together as a team to make it as successful as possible.
On my induction everything was prepared for me, everything was explained and ready for me to start, all the coursework i am given is explained so i understand what i have to do, the meetings are set up for once every month.
I receive a lot of support and help from my training provider, if i have any problems i have a way of contacting her in-between meetings to ask any questions, and on visits we will go through any work completed and if any need improving talk through it.
All the other members of staff are very supportive and helpful when i am ever stuck on a task, by suggesting ideas or explaining things to me, whenever i need assistance they will be there immediately to help.
The salary is a decent amount for someone who has just left school as it is enough to pay for board to parents for living costs, since busses and taxis are cheap the travel coats are affordable, i think the salary definitely meets and covers costs as long as you can handle your money and don't spend it all at one time.
As savers is a supporter of the charity Marie curie, we do activities to raise money for them, along with deals and discounts for gyms and shops, savers is a great place of work for classes and clubs outside of work.
Yes
I would recommend savers to a friend as they are a friendly and trustworthy company, all employees for the company are welcoming and kind. Savers also supports you and gives you many social and training opportunities.
Make sure your cv is up to date, be confident and relaxed. Everyone is friendly and supportive so you'll always have someone there for you, you are given full training on your induction so you won't have to worry about being thrown straight into it.
