I Work as a business apprentice within PSA Peugeot Citroen. I am currently working within a commercial finance role. My daily tasks consist of billing and crediting dealerships for a variety of different things. I also analyse various files and budgets to identify any anomalies. I also have a variety of internal interactions within day to day working life, these can range from talks with an individual who has raised a particular billing request to large budget meetings. My responsibilities within this role are to ensure that dealerships and credited/billed the correct amount of money and also contribute towards month end analysis through the production of separate reports. We have a variety of different projects on going such as the launch of a new system and month end reports.
I have developed skills within I.T and have achieved an NVQ in I.T during my time at PSA Peugeot Citroen. Internal training courses on different I.T programmes are readily available and external training courses on office skills are also available. I have learnt a variety of skills, ranging from developing my excel skills considerably and learning the process of day to day office life, which is a constant process!
I am enjoying the programme very much! I work within a very helpful and friendly team that have always been readily available if I ever encountered an obstacle. I am also enjoying learning about the companies culture and the variety of different aspects that it consists. I exceeded my expectations dramatically and I am very grateful of the opportunity to be a part of PSA Peugeot Citroen!
I feel like I am highly valued within the group. I now carry out my own monthly tasks that are vitally important to my current manager. Who gives me his appreciation for carrying these tasks out for him. I also get external recognition from dealers that contact me when they have a query, as I am able to solve their query with ease.
I feel that the current programme is extremely well structured! the Induction is vigorous but enjoyable and the training that is provided is very flexible as the trainers recognise you have work to do as well as assignments. These trainers are always available through email or phone to give support when you need it and are very consistent with their meetings and schedules that they put into place. task delegation is also very well organised, we receive new tasks as soon as we have completed our previous ones.
They offer a huge amount of support, this can be provided through email, telephone or 1 to 1 meetings, in which they are always happy to help. I have contacted my trainer on a number of occasions for help with my assignments and he is always quick to respond.
I am always receiving guidance on how to improve from my employer. I have monthly meetings with my manager in which he asks how I feel I am progressing and what tasks I will be moving on to. The HR team are located downstairs but are again always available for questions and advice. Overall I am constantly being supported by fellow colleagues.
I live with my parents and my salary is more than enough to cover the cost of board. I also pay for driving lessons and a bus pas to travel to and from work. I also have the money to book social holidays etc. I am extremely privileged to have the opportunity and access to the salary that PSA Peugeot Citroen supplies.
There are a variety of different events that you can take part in outside of work. Some of my colleagues play football after work on a Monday and you can also volunteer to take part in events that are held nationwide; for example some of my colleagues took part in the Westfield DS event in London last weekend. There is also a gym on site that you can easily become a member of which is available for use in the morning, lunch and after working hours.
Yes
I would recommend PSA Peugeot Citroen to a friend because it is an amazing experience. I have really enjoyed my time here so far and I am constantly learning about different aspects of the business. Although it is a business environment it is a very friendly and humorous within the office!
I would advise people who are applying for a position within PSA Peugeot Citroen to research into the company. I would also advise them to make sure they have all of there GCSE/A level certificates readily available. The assessment days are challenging but it gives you an insight into what business working life is like. I would like to have been told more about what each role within the business consists of. But other than that it is a great experience.
