In my position I am responsible for the same duties as the deputy managers, from running the store to making sure it is a sage place to be. Also parts of the training mean I get to take on some of the store manager duties too.
Skills are constantly developing from being able to manage a large number of staff so that things run smoothly to being able to work on my own ensuring any extra duties are taken care of.
I enjoy the programme a great deal as in this type of environment no two days are the same and each day presents its own challenges. The team that I work with also make the programme enjoyable with the work involved.
I feel very valued by Aldi with constant feedback on my progress it let's me know that I am doing well and when my manager teaches me something extra it let's me know I am doing well.
The programme is very well structured with time scales for each of the different areas to learn and corresponding tests. It's also fits on easily with my out of work life.
My apprenticeship lead sees me every month and I get email updates from her on a regular basis to make sure that I am doing okay in work and if I need any extra help with anything.
I have regular training with my manager and other members of the management team, I also have quarterly meetings with higher management toale sure that everything is on track.
It meets my needs to a satisfactory level, you need to remember that this is an apprenticeship so may not earn as much at the start but it is worth it in the long run.
The skills and qualifications that I have gained through the apprenticeship are transferable to outside life and can easily be used In other management style roles.
Yes
The apprenticeship has helped to develop not only my understanding of businesses and how they are run but also developed me as a person. It is hard work but a lot of fun at the same time.
At the beginning there is a lot to take on bored and some of the work can be challenging however if you can stick it out the rewards are worth it and it can be a great deal of fun.
