my job title is officially software engineer but the tasks I do currently are more that of a database analyst, 9-5:30 with one hour lunch, generally you manage your own day, you have tasks to complete and skype meetings to attend.
When you first start the job you complete at least 8 weeks of training that assumes that you have no previous experience coding, the trainers are from Aston university are really good and helpful during this time, also before getting placed on a project I was put on a few external courses to teach me technologies i would be using on the project which really helped get a good grasp of things
I enjoy it more than i expected and have made really good friends with my colleagues. Hard work is included as after hours work is required.
yes, regular reviews and good amounts of communication between myself and manager. colleagues on project don't expect too much from you at the start since you will be learning new technologies, they will always involve you and help you along the way
Great induction and initial training which got everyone up to the same speed technically. very well, part time study ran by Aston university some online lectures in the evenings and a few campus days. You work a standard 9-5:30 job with an hour lunch, mostly studying is done in your own time. as well as getting 25 days holiday per year you also get a study allowance which you can take when ever you need it e.g. revision before exams and days of the exams
You are given contacts and Aston university and have a mentor that you have regular meeting with, everyone is happy to help.
Given all relevant information on who to contact if i have any problems, and if you cant remember who it is you need to contact for a specific issue then there is always someone to point you in the right direction.
very well, £16000 starting after 8 weeks of training and they cover additional mileage, hotel costs and daily allowance for food. Also company laptop and mobile phone are provided free of cost
Lots of meet and greets to speak to other members of Capgemini that you don't work with, also regular opportunities for interesting activities e.g. 3 peaks challenge.
Yes
Great company that I and everyone I know likes working for.
Interview questions aren't technical and do your research on the company. Expect to work hard
