I am a trainee associate at PwC, and my dat-to-day job is Auditing. As a firm, PwC check and test the client's financial status before their annual accounts are submitted to the public. I work with many different people from PwC, which means no two days are the same, and when going from client to client, it is good to mix with new colleagues and new clients.
Since being at PwC, I have started to take my ACA examinations. I have also had internal training to get me used to the types of work we will be completing out on client sites. I have learnt how to use PwC's software, and also how and why PwC test certain areas of financial statement.s
I enjoy my programme because you get to meet lots of new people, of all different levels within the firm, as well as building relationships with clients I work on. PwC exceeded my expectations with the amount of support there is in helping with my work. I thoroughly enjoy my job.
I feel appreciated my people at PwC. On jobs, there is continual praise to employees of all levels, from senior members of the team. Senior members boost the moral of the team. I also get given responsibility on the team which makes me feel valued.
My programme is structured well with lots of training near the start to get me used to what my day to day job is going to be like. We then get time to stufy for our exams, and lots of support from managers and employees of a higher level with our exams.
My tutor is always there when I have questions regarding exams. I usually get a response the same day which makes me feel supported through the process. Employees of a higher levels also support me and help me if I am struggling with work or exams.
At PwC, everyone is given a Buddy who is a couple of years above them, and a people manager. My PM continually checks up on me to make sure I am settled in and that I am not facing any problems whilst at the firm. She rings me whilst I am out on site for catch ups to check I am well.
Travel in and around London is expensive, but because I grew up with it, I am used to it. I think the salary meets my costs as I am able to continue buying the essentials and saving money for the future, whilst paying for lunches, travel etc
There are lots of socials outside of work, as well as Balls in the summer and Christmas parties. This is a way of the firm to say thank you to the employees, as well as employees getting to know each other better outside of the working environment
Yes
Yes - the support around is amazing. It is a great experience. And the money is a bonus. Everyone is friendly at the firm and makes time to help you if you are struggling. The firm acts as one community and wants everyone to succeed.
Make sure you are determined for the job. Research, research and research some more! The assessment days are there for PwC to help you, you are not being full on tested. PwC do not want to try and catch you out, they want the best for all their applicants.
