In the first year you start of as a store assistant and learn the ropes of what most people in the store do, this being shop floor work and also the tills. Years 2 and 3 is when you get to start learning the managerial roles of the store.
I have learnt many skills at Aldi, and also developed them even further. Being on the tills helps your maths as you have to work out the change in your head.
I absolutely love this program, it's so much fun, you throw all of yourself in to it. It can be a hard grafting day, and you always have something to do. It's definitely the place to push yourself
I feel very valued. I've never felt like I'm not part of the team. Everyone feels like your friend, and they are all so lovely. You can talk to anyone if you need anything and they will always be willing to help you out
It's very organised. I will always receive a message to know when I'm meeting up with my tutor for my coursework outside the job. And in Aldi they are very structured to keep the store running as smooth and efficient as possible
I get lots of support from both my training provider and my managers in Aldi. Everyone's willing to help as much as they can. Always asking if I need anything, and my training provider I'll answer any questions I need answering
They are always asking if I need any help with anything and telling me to come to them if I do. No matter how silly a question may seem, they will answer you without judgement and help you through
Well for the first year it's £5.40 an hour, and though this isn't a lot, it does get better through the years and will all be worth it at the end. However if I compare this to other apprenticeships, I feel very lucky to be on this pay
So many opportunities to do what you wanna do. Because you can be flexible with work hours, there is plenty of time to do what you want to do outside of work.
Yes
Because it's such a good opportunity for a future career. I cannot see anything bad about this apprenticeship. I am so glad I found it and would highly recommend for anyone wanting to do this.
I would say be super bubbly and friendly, they love a friendly face. And be efficient as this will help a lot in the stores. They like someone happy, friendly, but also can work hard and do what needs to be done in an allotted time
