My job title is a Trainee Associate within the tac team. My daily tasks include preparing personal tax returns and completing consulting work for clients. I deal with clients on a regular basis by phone, email and face to face.
Throughout my apprenticeship, I have developed invaluable communication skills, broadened my knowledge through attended classes, working on projects and indepedent study.
I have enjoyed working within my team and have adapted to the culture of PwC. Compared to my expectations before joining the firm, I have realised that you must be dedicated as studying and working can be difficult! However, I believe the hard work is worth it and have really enjoyed the experience!
In terms of apprectiation within my team, most people are keen to see you do well. There is also an internal recognition when you pass exams.
The apprenticeship scheme is very organised in terms of our tutor staying in touch and classes and mock exams are organised with lots of advance notice.
Our training provider Kaplan is very supportive and our tutor is available via email all the time. We have monthly calls or visits which are useful and my tutor is a valuable contact if any problems or queries regarding the apprenticesip come up.
In terms of support, everyone in my team is keen to see me achieve my exams and complete my apprenticeship with PwC. Each employee is allocated a people manager and they are your first point of contact if any problems arise.
The apprenticeship salary isn't great but after evaluating not having any student debt, it is worthwhile and as it's only for 2 years! Living at home made it a lot easier as the only bills I need to pay each month are my phone contract and
PwC offers lots of social events such as First Friday, the Annual Dinner and a variety of other events throughout the year. These are a good way of getting to know other PwC employees.
Yes
Really good career opportunity! Once you are into PwC then you can certainly change your career path and move to another department for some experience.
The application process is very intense and it's important to realise that PwC aren't looking for someone is perfect! The online testing is really difficult and the interview was very direct so it's important to just try your best.
