Carry out mechanical tasks on site including things such as overhauling pumps, valves ect.
I have learnt many new skills over my 4 year long apprenticeship. I have learnt hand skills, machining skills and mechanical knowledge and skills to carry out various mechanical challanges.
I enjoy my program as I always face new challenges on a day to day basis, always working on new bits of kit and learning new skills
I feel very values as an employee at eDF. I feel that my team can rely on me as a member.
My program is well structures, the first 2 years are based in Portsmouth and the remaining 2 years are based on site. on site there is a training center where we are continuously learning.
When at any point we are unsure about something, we as apprentices just need to ask and we will recieve specific training on jobs in the training center.
As an employer edf want to ensure we are the best of the best therefore edf provide constant training and suport.
My salary support my costs well at the moment as I still currently still live at home.
Down portsmouth there were a few events for charity such as a dragon boat race, these events are also good for social events.
Yes
eDF is a good employer, they look after their employee. The training is good as is the salary to go with.
I would advise people to be profesional, do some research upon the type of work your likely to be doing and make sure you like hands on work.
