I am currently in my first year of the Engineering Maintenance Apprenticeship which is a four-year programme. I am currently training to gain the skills required to maintain power stations which could be a coal, gas or nuclear plant which are situated around the UK. Upon completion, I'll be awarded an Advanced Modern Apprenticeship Certificate in Engineering, and I will also receive a BTEC and an NVQ Level 3, with the potential for further education.

I am proud to be a part of EDF Energy as I feel it is a great company to work for and the training I am receiving is second to none. I feel no other apprenticeship is able to offer an apprenticeship anywhere near the standards of EDF Energy. I enjoy the training and I am learning new things everyday.
I feel very valued by EDF Energy knowing how much money they put into each apprentice and into the apprenticeship scheme.
It is a very well thought out and structured programme. Inductions were thorough and informative giving you everything you needed to know. There is 24 hour support everyday and whenever you need it.
Tutors are always there for you if you need any support, advice and help. They have a lot of experience and can guide you when you are stuck and need any help.
There is constant support from managers and the HR team as they all want the best for you. Anything you want to ask they are there for you.
EDF Energy pay for our accommodation and travel to and from the training academy. This is great and really helpful . As well as this meals are paid for at the training academy as well.
There is plenty of opportunities to get involved in and put yourself forward for. There is French classes available every week as well a gym and leisure facilities.
