Trainee associate within FDD Transaction services. On a day to day basis I usually work as part of a team to help produce a due diligence report either for a buyer or seller of a business this could involve doing proof reads, datapacking, financial analysis of businesses and report slide writing.
I have learnt a vast amount since joining Pwc. My excel skills as well as my understanding of accountancy and other areas of finance have vastly improved since joining.
The professional services industry has a reputation for hard work and sometimes there being long hours, In my experience I have found this to be true. In saying that Pwc is a great place to work full of highly motivated intelligent people who want to help you develop. I also have had the opportunity to work on some very interesting client engagements. So I would say that although it can be tough I would have to say overall enjoy my role
Pwc invest so much in their people. Whether it be world class training, support for professional exams, mentoring or corporate retreats you definitely get the sense that the partners value their staff very highly
My apprenticeship in general has a solid structure which is well communicated to us through our course tutors from Kaplan. The support we have been given for our professional exams has been great
We receive a good level of support from our training provider both in learning for exams and as part of our overall diploma work
The people who work within Pwc are very understanding as most of them have been where we are with regards to doing exams etc so generally a good level of support is given e.g time off for study
My salary more than covers my costs and I am able to save some money aswell. The fact that my exam costs are also paid for by the firm is a massive bonus.
The team are very friendly and sociable so the opportunity to go out and have a bit of fun do exist. The firm also puts on a variety of social events throughout the year
Yes
From my experience Pwc has been a great place to learn a lot of high value skills. It is a company that treats its employees with a massive amount of respect and constantly strive to do better in both our work and also supporting its staff outside of the office so that a good work life balance is achieved.
For someone applying for my role I would say simply that you will get out what you put in. Pwc will provide you with plenty of good opportunities its upto you to take them
