I am working on a government project to warehouse data and process any changes required to the databases.
Yes I have learnt a lot of new skills. The company heavily invests in training the young joiners. So far, I've had training in Pentaho Data Integration studio and Pentaho BA. This is on top of the 11 weeks training period that I undertook at the start of the programme. I now can use SQL, UNIX, Visual Studio, Java and business intelligence tools such as QlikSense.
I really enjoy my programmme. I think it's a great way to fast track your career as not only do you gain the qualifications that you need to be successful but you gain invaluable real life experience which is just as if not more important!
I feel very valued. The company look after you well.
The programme is very well structured and organised. There is a clear direction to the programme unlike if I had joined as a grad which is extremely helpful.
We receive a lot of support from our training provider. The regular visits from your assessor help them keep a track of where you are and assist you along the way where they can.
The company is very supportive. They look after you and take time to make sure you know what you are doing when you join.
The salary package more than meets my needs. The base salary of £16,000 is more than sufficient especially when the company pays for you to stay in at least a 4* hotel, £30 for food every night and covers your fuel costs as well.
There are lots of courses to take and also lots of volunteering opportunities. There are also social activities like playing football with colleagues on a weekly basis.

Be honest when applying. They're not looking for model answers and they value people who are genuine and honest. Be yourself and make sure you prepare sufficiently!
