My job role within this apprenticiship is to learn and understand as much as possible about the machines that i may be working with in the future. I also have 3 month placements around the factory which allows me gain an understanding of how the factory is run.
I have learnt a lot of new skills which include basic engineering and also people skills. I feel a lot more confident with the work that i complete on a day to day basis from these skills learnt.
I really enjoy this programme as it has a lot of perks to the job. The team you work with are really good and also provide you with all the information you need to help you through the programme.
I feel very valued at BMW. You get a lot of respect shown for you as an apprentice around the factory and everyone understands that we could potentially be the future of the company. Everyone makes you feel valued at BMW.
This programme is organised very well. You have a plan set out for you whihc tells you where your placemts are for the next 2 years and also you have regular meetings so that our boss can keep track of our development.
We have a 1 to 1 meeting every week where the trainer supports us through anything we need. He is always available to go up and talk to and he gives us everything possible to help with the apprentiship.
I recieve a lot of support from my employer. I get support from the people i work with in each placement and also from my manager. They provided everything needed to help expand my knowledge and to help me through this programme.
We are on a very good salary which is enough to meet my living costs whilst i am on this apprentiship. We get pay increases depending on our performace which keeps you on track as you know you get rewarded for this.
There are events whihc are held outside of work such as family days. You are always pushed to attend these as it helps with the work bound and getting to know people around your work place. Also as apprentices we often get asked if we want to promote the appretiship to different schools around which is good.
Yes
This is a great company to work for. They make you feel as if you are needed in the company and they also offer a great salary and perks to the job. The education you recieve is the best and also the team you work with are great. You can make a lot of friends here.
Ensure that you turn up in smart dress wear. Your first apperance will make a massive impression. Also make sure to take time answering questions.. On the test to get into BMW you will have to solve problems within a certain time. You will have a lot of questions to answer but they do not expect you to answer all of them, just ensure the ones you do answer you are confident that they are correct. Also make an impression, in the team building activity do not be shy. Put across your opinion.
