As a management apprentice in retail, on a day to day basis I manage a team of people in order to hit store targets
I have learnt how to manage a retail store
I have met a great bunch of people who i consider close friends now
People look up to me to know what needs doing, managers have often said they are glad to see me on tough trading days
It was a bit unorganized as the 2nd year starts just before Christmas so no training happens until you are 4-5 months into the "year"
Since the change from manchester college to first4skills, i dont feel like i have been given the support when i have asked for it from my area trainer.
As much as I need, when I ask for it
I'm never short on money, Aldi pay better than most employers so i'm earning as much as my friends who are on full time wages.
never needed to look, the apprenticeship leads straight into a management roll.
Yes
They are a good employer with a good business model who's main focus is the people that work for them. They always provide support and extra training if needed and because the store teams are small, you get to know everyone on a personal level.
Although it is hard work at Aldi, they pay is higher than any other retailer, and because everyone you work with is friendly, the day passes fast and is usually enjoyable.
