Dealing with tax queries and questions, as well as completing tax returns for a wide range of employees. On top of this completing a national diploma qualification and the ATT
Since joining I have definitely learnt how to manage my time better and be very organised as you have to juggled so many different things at once and be prepared to be flexible and adaptable to change.
I enjoy the programme as it gives you a lot of responsiblity and allows you to learn a lot about yourself. You pick up a lot of technical aspects of tax very quickly and always learn new things.
PwC definitely looks after its employees by giving lots of opportunities for progression and is flexible to you as an individual. You never feel left in the dark and alone, there is always someone you can speak to or give you guidance/help when needed.
The programme is well structured by combining on the job work and college which interacts with each other, helping you build your knowledge and utilize this within work.
For college my tutor is very encouraging and always provides us with his contact details after every session so anything we are unsure of or want to go through with him seperately we can. Likewise for my diploma work the assessor is very motivational and encouraging and gives lots of guidance on what to do.
The way the programme is set up allows you to have lots of support from your teams, people manager and buddy. Ensuring there is always someone you can go to and speak about queries or questions, work or non-work related.
My travel costs are quite high, however having the option for the company to pay for my season ticket is extremely helpful and then take this out of my monthly pay. Likewise they provide msot of the resources needed for College/ATT. I'm sure anyone would appreciate it to be higher but it is reasonable for just joining.
There are opportunities outside of work to interact with your teams or get involved with different teams, such as the football team etc. They encourage this and like you to network with people you dont normally deal with.
Yes
I would recommend PwC to a friend because this job structure is definitely a career more so than a job and allows you to progress as much as you want, based on how hard you want to work. It provides opportunities and support, which some other jobs don't.
I would definitely say to ensure you are ready to work hard and dedicate your time to this as a career more so than a job. Be adaptable and prepared to dedicate a lot of your time to the job and qualifications.
