in my apprenticeship i am undergoing a BTEC level 3 and an NVQ level 2 at the moment. I will take classes which will involve me doing different work to gain the qualifications. I have different classes each week so i am not doing the same thing over and over again.
I believe i have learned a large amount of skills which will be relevant to my future job. The training courses provide a lot of information and are very interesting as there are practical elements which link in with the theory that you learn.
I really enjoy my apprenticeship and would highly recommend it to anyone who is thinking of applying to it.
I feel as if i am a very valued member of EDF and i believe i can consult my managers with problems if needed. I am involved throughout on a daily basis through team tasks and i feel as if i can voice my ideas and they will be considered
The program is very well organised and the training given is up to an extremely high standard and there are new things to be learned every day. There is great support from the staff if anyone is to need any help and they will guide you step by step of what is to be done.
I believe the support from the tutors is there if needed and they are very knowledgeable people and will take any questions asked and give you an answer.
I believe that the support from EDF is very good. I am able to consult my station coordinator and apprentice manager about anything and they will give me guidance if needed. They are available through email and they are very quick to respond. They make me feel like a valued member of the team and have faith in me to succeed
The salary that i am on as an apprentice is much more than the average apprentice wage. Also all of my travel, food and accommodation is paid for for the first two year of the apprenticeship which leaves a great amount of money to save and to spend as you please
There are many opportunities that i can take part in such as Christmas party's and end of year party's. Also there are activities organised by fellow apprentices which keep you busy whilst away from home.
Yes
It is a great apprenticeship scheme with all the right things and more to become a successful engineer in the future. It offers great opportunities throughout the 4 years and you have the chance of a job after you finish.
I would say be yourself, show interest in what you want to do and research the background of the company before applying
