I am an audit associate, this means I will visit different companies throughout the year to ensure that the year end financial statements are reasonable stated. Day to day I will audit various sections of the financial statements, while solving difference problems which may occur. I am also the first point of call for the client whilst on site.
I have learnt more skills in terms of completing my job but have also improved my personnel skills such as communication, confidence and leadership. These do not only help with my current job but outside the work environment
I enjoy the people I work with and that I am meeting new people on a weekly basis. I am able to visit different kinds of clients being able to enhance my career. The work to life balance is something that I was not sure on before I started however so far I have not found this to be to much of an issue.
I do feel valued by other team members and in the most by my managers. However the higher the level the less you can feel recognised. There is a reward system in place which is able to recognise good pieces of work etc. and when this comes from a Partner this does make you feel valued.
I was in the third intake of my programme and it was slightly altered for my intake with regard to exams, this was something I was not to keen on as there did not appear to be a clear reason for the change. However I am happy with the other aspects of the programme such as training/studying/work. I do like how we are also seen by most as the same as our fellow colleagues who have joined from University, I think this is key as for most we start with a similar level of experience within accountancy
Support is provided through many means and a reply is always prompt and informative.
A lot of support is provided in all aspects of work and exams. We are assigned buddies and line managers who are our first point of call.
I salary more than covers the costs involved without Luxeries, if you are able to budget yourself then the wage is suffice. However I do live with parents so currently my expenses are minimal and if I was to want to move out with my current wage I am not sure if this would be possible without making some sever savings. The differences in Wage across the firm are reflected with the cost of living in each area which is deemed reasonable. The method of expenses etc. is also reasonable
Yes, many opportunities supported by GT throughout the year depending on what you want, in busy seasons these are limited however but this is expected/.
Yes
Good company to work for, although not top four they offer a good foundation and have benefits which are not available to other firms.
