I work in Research and Development, testing new medicines and analysing/trending the data produced. The data I produce contributes to regulatory submissions which form part of the drug release application.
Use of HPLC, use of karl fischer titration, inhaled/solid oral dose testing, understanding of regulatory dossiers, data analysis, Lean and Sigma 6, laboratory manager responsibilities, professional conduct, personal development
The university course has been a mixed bag, some modules are tedious, but others are really interesting. The work I perform is satisfying and I feel like I "make a difference"
I finish my apprenticeship in September 2016, I have not been offered employment past this point. I have no job security.
There is no clear structure within GSK, I am treated as any other member of the workforce. The University course is well structured
The university lecturers are always available to help if emailed.
I have a mentor that I can go to with problems and have 1:1s with my line manager. I am suitably supported
I commute quite a distance so travel expense does subtract from my earnings. If this was not the case I would be comfortable with my salary
yes, the workplace has sport facilities, social clubs, a gym and many other clubs to join
Yes
They are a market leading business with a history of success. The workforce is treated well and I can see a period of expansion in the coming years
