I am a trainee accountant working in assurance. I have worked on a range of clients so far, from building societies to small pension schemes. I love the variance of my day to day work as no day is the same! You have to be ready to talk to a range of people from your peers, managers to clients in various roles.
I could honestly say there hasn't been a day where I haven't learnt somehthing new, whether it be exam based, communication based or job based.
There is a stong time commitment with this job that can always be a trouble with the work life balance but the people experience makes it worth it.
With constant varying appraisal in different ascpects of the job I feel very appreciated.
Unfortuantly I believe the organisation of the course is what lets it down, the courses always seem last minute and no one in the firm seems to really know the structure of our programme which makes them balancing your work and traning programme a little difficult.
There are many contacts at Kaplan that I feel very comfortable talking to and I know they will be there for exam and qualification issues.
There are many contacts at PwC that I feel very comfortable talking to and I know they will be there for any issues, work, personal and even exam related.
Salary is extremely agreeable with living at home.
There are many aspects of the job that are extra curricular and thats what makes it so interesting, I am on he social committee who organise group events and away days and I love it.
