My initial role was a SACM Analyst, although this was changed within the first month to just a SAM Analyst. I was involved in the Software Lifecyle process, which involved new purchases, software requests, managing contract renewals & monthly reports, such as compliance & deployment reports.
I have developed a lot of new skills as part of my apprenticeship, as well as the training courses part of my course I was also enrolled in additional training courses by Atos.
I enjoyed the programme as the team I was working with was really good. No one ever treated me as just an apprentice and I as though I was a valued member of the team.
Atos offer lots of additional benefits, for example, cashback from certain retailers. They also offer a pension scheme, private health insurance and recently a car finance scheme. During my programme I was also involved in regular calls which highlighted any good work we had done.
Our training was hosted at a local hotel that was only 20-30 minutes away from the office. The commute was really easy but I would imagine if you had to use public transport it would be quite difficult to get there.
My tutor was really helpful and also replied quick to any texts/emails/phone calls etc. They also kept in contact with my manager and provided him with updates as to how we were progressing.
Our employer also provided support when we needed it. Providing us with mentors as well who we could go to with any issues.
For an apprenticeship the salary was actually really good. We also received a pay rise after a successful 6 month probation.
There are lots of local charity opportunities if they take your fancy. I personally have not done anything other than my work related activities though.
